Museo and 9800

2006-06-05 by William Du Bois

Actually, the Museo Max is quite a nice paper.

It's the Epson 9800 that is having trouble printing right. Using an
Epson 10000 prints out a more satisfactory target.

For some reason the Epson 9800 won't print out differentiated target
patches for many squares. For instance:

RGB values =
   	0, 32, 0
	32. 0, 0
	0, 0, 32
	0, 64, 32
	0, 64, 64
	0, 32, 64

all look about the same on the print out from the Epson 9800.

They are clearly distinguishable when printed on the Museo paper with
the Epson 10000.

I am worried that we just have a bad 9800.

Now I guess, I need to make profiles for the old 10000. I still
haven't gotten this profiling thing down yet, though....
