I just got this product, and after using it, and rebooting, I get a
screen called "Default Monitor". This dialog has a picture of the
Spyder2express hardware. Then there is a child window
called "Colorvision startup". It shows the following text:
"Sorry, no calibration data was found in the profile "sRGB Color Space
Profile" for monitor "Default Monitor". Please select a different
profile using 'ProfileChooser'. (1168)
The default Windows monitor profile is sRGB. sRGB does not have any correction curves attached to it, which is causing the warning. Windows is being called to set your custom profile as the default monitor profile, but its not doing so, and is not returning an error message to the Spyder software (known Windows bug). What you need to do, is that the message tells you: use the Profile Chooser utility to choose your custom profile yourself, since Windows didn't do so when requested.
I searched this group, but I could not find an article matching this
error. Please advise me on how to solve this problem.
This group is not a comprehensive resource on ColorVision issues, and much of what's here is not filed under subject lines that are comprehensive. The CV website's FAQs are a better resource, but tech support is the ultimate answer.
I noticed that the color is not adjusted after reboot. I assume this is
the reason.
Your color does not change because the sRGB profile has no video corrections. If choosing your custom profile with Profile Chooser "sticks" (meaning your custom profile remains selected) then you should see that "flash" after reboot that shows the video curves are being adjusted.
