Last week I switched from CRT to a new 20" Apple Cinema Display and I'm having a tough
time getting a good calibration. (yes, I know it's not the best LCD but I'm in Costa Rica, that's
all there was available).
I'm trying to calibrate to 2.2, 6500K and 120cd/m2 cause most of my work is photo
retouching.
I've tried calibrating to Native but it gets me to around 6700K. Then when I try with 6500 it
gives me a redish tone on the blacks, but just the blacks.
¿Has anyone profiled a Cinema Display and with what settings?
Those are very reasonable settings for a Cinema. I calibrate that and other Cinema models to a forced 6500k whitepoint regularly. Should have no particular effect near black to force the white end... experiment a bit more, and if it continues, then send me a copy of the resulting profile, along with a screenshot of the curves window, after having run a validation so that there are uncalibrated and calibrated curves showing. Occasionally Cinemas are misadjusted internally, making them unprofilable externally. Send to , not to the list.
