Robert,

No, what you're getting is fine; the white calibration tile is not supposed
to measure as a "perfect" white of 100, 0, 0. Mine measures as 90.22, -0.97,
-0.99.

It's not expected that you'd get exactly the same reading from the paper
white for a given sheet of paper, but it's not impossible, either. Try
meausuring a few -different- kinds of paper and you should see the numbers
change.
