This is correct, and to be expected, since there are two directions involved: out to print, and back to preview. If you decide not to adjust the heading for a ship traveling back to Europe from America, but still edit the outbound voyage from Europe, the result is that it is still changed, just not changed as much as if it was changed in both directions... if that makes sense.
