Another question is how do the profiles created with PFP2
compare to the results obtained with the Imageprint Rip that are sold
with the Epson Pro printers?

I haven't been keeping up on what is offered as bundles with the various Epsons, but I certainly wasn't aware of Imageprint bundles, last I looked it was ColorBurst (but this may vary country to country as well). At any rate, RIPs are less and less necessary for OEM ink printing as the printers become more linear. The comparisons I've seen between B&W RIP output with OEM inks, and B&W PrintFIX PRO 2 output with OEM inks has shown both to be quite acceptable, with the added advantages of flexibility, control, and easy preview going to PFP2. By the way, best RIP results still require PFP or some other patch reading tool for linearization of the RIP.
