That is great news. I paint my own backgrounds with industural pigments

paint stores instead of by eye all the time. Is this possible?

Thats certainly possible, but paint store software usually has tables of available premixed bases and pigments, and the blending forumli for any of their colors from these ingredients. This cookbook could be used, with the DC 1005, to mix colors to match existing samples, but that component is paint brand specific. You would be in a position of guiding yourself by measurement, instead of by eye, unless you created your own tables to serve these functions. Sounds like a bit of work...
