I should have asked about this before purchasing but here goes.... I bought an Eizo ColorEdge CE240W (for WinXP computer). It comes with the ColorNavigator software but no measuring hardware device. It workswith various devices including the Spyder2. I bought a cheap package called Spyder2Express just to get the included Spyder2 hardware device. I tried it with ColorNavigator and it recognized the Spyder2 but when I got to the point of actually measuring a patch it stopped and said I should make sure the device was firmly attached to the monitor and then press "Proceed". It will not go any further. It doesn't seem to like what it's getting from the device. I installed the Spyder2 Express software and it also stopped with an error message at one point. The FAQ on the Colorvison web site says that this is spurious and you should just proceed...which I did with positive results. They have a newer version download which is solely to correct this problem but I could not install it on my computer. I have no idea if these two problems are related or not. Does anyone have any info for me? Did I screw up by buying the Spyder2Express package? I assumed the hardware was the same. Perhaps the device driver is not?
