Request

2007-03-02 by potomacbassfisher

I've been working with the PFP system since it first came out and
have been so very happy with it.

That said however I still have an overriding question and issue with
out of gamut blues.

I print for an artist that frequently gives me out of gamut blues and
as normal they shift to purple on my IPF8000 canon quite heavily. I
have resorted to printing in absolute colorimetric to keep the blues
blue however the other colors of course lack punch.

Incidentally the PFP system while being preferable (in my opinion) to
many other profiling systems seems to shift to purple more than some
others when out of gamut when comparing a given intent.

My biggest two request for the PFP system moving forward is this:

1. A tutorial or easy to use slider (better yet a checkbox) that
addresses the purple blue shift. It would pull the out of gamut
blues back to blue.

2. This is unrelated to my post above, but I would love for
Colorvision to release some tools, guides, or even a iO type system
that would automate or just speed up the patch reading process. I
know the system has been set up to keep costs down but personally I
only do the 700+ patch layout.

Thanks for the great product!
