Hi Molitar, In a nutshell you monitor is at the end of it's life as it can not achieve proper luminance. Time to buy a new LCD monitor. Your monitor exhibited my old Sony's behavior where the text was fuzzy and just about impossible to read. > Ok first of all my primary purpose is viewing videos. Second is > digital pictures. It doesn't matter what you are viewing as it's all "digital" while viewing it on your monitor. You only need one set-up but it's moot at this point as the Samsung can't reach minimum brightness level. Dell (made by Samsung) has some very good LCDs at affordable prices. Best, John
