That only tells you that you are flashing video corrections to each screen... it doesn't necessarily mean that you are flashing the correct video corrections to each, nor does it necessarily guarantee that the actual profiles are being used correctly for each screen. Cards with one digital and one analog output aren't necessarily intended as truely dual output cards, but rather cards with both analog and digital output choices...
My problem is this:
The color on each monitor is distinctly different after calibration.
Different from what? Each other? There could be any number of causes of that...
Apart from that, the 'eye' test suggests to me that the VGA connected
device is too red, and the DVI device too yellow. Neither matches the
print on an Epson R2400 using the R2400 profile. I'm not sure whether
my setup, is the cause here, or whether my Spyder2express is capable
of getting the job done - it seems to calibrate with different results
10 minutes apart on the same fully warmed up monitor.
Well, Spyder2express is only designed to calibrate ONE display, so you are having to trick it to get two profiles in the first place. Then they are both named the same thing. Then you have to deal with the color control applet to try to get both the profiles, and their video corrections all loaded, and without some pretty extensive testing, its hard to tell that all of that is working correctly.
So, I can't really give you much encouragement with this, and certainly can't troubleshoot all of this in order to determine whether your color issues are due to one of these factors, or something else.
