Sorry after I read your message, that does sound to harse.  What I should have said was the normal flow of emails had not yeilded any positive results.  Whereas having found the group, within a short number of posts I had sent you the profile, you determined it valid and the problem was resolved.

It is quite possible that it is the video card since this never happened before with the standard Video Card that came installed in the PC.

But, the Internet is plagued with this issue.  I even found a link where Dell had provided a means for their users with the issue to download a fix and repair the corrupted EDID.

Visiontek, yes I know, did not resopond to my outcry for assistance either through their website or forum.

As you say, the Dell monitors and the Viewsonic may have a common component, since these are the brands predominatly having the issue.  The sunny thing is though, some of the online posts regarding this, many folks thought it was an NVIDIA issue.  My Visiontek has the ATI chipset.
