Re: Spyder coloromiter giving inconsistant readings.

2010-03-11 by Phiegze

Yes I can send a few clicks from measuring the white tile.
But since this thing can seemingly work for 20 clicks in a row I'm not sure what that would tell you. The salient point is seems is the WILDLY out of range readings that do occur.

Now; that being said; I can imagine either, the reading being wrong, or, the representation of that reading being wrong where I see the SEE the split or measured readings which or course are sent to the screen through software.

Since I can not but sure buy looking at at my monitor, and since a few clicks can't establish reliability I'd assumed you'd want to see a more representative sampling.

I had two questions. One was about repair-ability and you've answered that - thank you.

The other question was intended to save me the expense of tossing this slightly used failed piece of gear for a new piece of gear from the same company if the promblem MAY be sofware releated.

I would assume that you would be in a position to know of other failures similar to this one and hence be able to offer some advice garnered from your extensive knowledge.

If that is the case I'd like to hear it.
Otherwise I guess I'd better start shopping.
