Newer Epson printer models are much less prone to variation, due to better drivers, finer dots, improved inks, more effective papers, etc. Its still worth checking, but you won't be wringing out the excess ink from some settings as was the case with older models... as I recall it notes, somewhere in the help, that any of several settings may be acceptable with some printers.
