All this makes perfect sens, thank you I wonder, though, if using your eye, under ambiant light, to determine the "right" black and white point luminances isn't even better than using software since these are such subjective notions. But then again: the two "knobs" available on most LCD screens (brightness and contrast) are not readily helpful for that... Not clear neither on which kind of chart this should be done.
