Printfix Pro-Epson Color Base

Printfix Pro-Epson Color Base

2006-03-02 by antonywyeth

Very simple question, can Printfix Pro be used for measuring the test
chart printed by Color Base? If not is there any chance that
it(software) might be modified in the future so that it could?

Sure ... under the preferences tab there is a calibrate and measure
pop up box ... that will let you take individual measurements. You
can read the Lab values and write them down.

Thats how I found out how far out of spec my little ColorCheker chart
was (cough) ... bad Gretag ... No cookie!

I should caveat that answer. The ColorBase software wants to
interface directly to the spectro device. You can make measurements
but writing the interface is probably under Epson's domain since they
own the ColorBase software.

Not sure about ColorBase but....

ColorVision moved the measurements tab in the beta software.

If you have the beta software there is a "Tools" menu where you can export text files either in
LAB or Density. No need to write the values down.

This is Epson's software that you are asking about, not ColorVision's. I am not in a position to comment on Epson development plans. On the other hand, I can tell you that ColorVision is actively assisting other companies where ever possible to support PrintFIX PRO in their products.
