Calibrating the Spectrocolorimeter
2006-09-22 by Rocky Egner
Hello:) I was wondering: When I received my PFP Suite the other day I tried to calibrate the Spectro for the first time before reading my first color chart. The calairation procress first required that Spectro read the "Black" on the spectro stand. It processed and asked to read the "White". I kept getting an error message at this point. I contacted Colorvision and they told me I need to upgrade my software version to 1.1.1 I noticed that after the upgrade, whenever I calibrate the spectro it requires I read the White patch only. It does not ask to read the Black. Is it important for spectro to calibrate to black as well as white for proper calibration? If so, perhaps this may be some of my problems with shadows and reddish being printed out as green? Referring to original post: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/colorvision_group/message/1364 Rocky
