What does average actually do ?

What does average actually do ?

2006-10-03 by Mike Johnson

I just averaged two sets of readings. I seem to have just a slight
change to the values in one of the files.

eg. Patch 65
1st file	33.85	-20.47	-4.38
2nd file	33.71	-20.53	-4.86
Average	33.84	-20.47	-4.39

I would have expected the average to be:

33.78 -20.50 -4.62

Mike,

It should just be a straight average of the values.

I'll double-check things; in the meantime, if you want to send
me your file pair, I'll test them directly. Email them to davem@...
and I'll have a look with them later tonight.
