Media settings - getting it right

Media settings - getting it right

2006-11-04 by Keith Cooper

Hi

I just posted a short article about using the PF PRO to get really good glossy colour prints
from a (very lightly used) Epson 1160 using third party inks and paper. The 1160 used to
have Lyson SG inks in it, so I've included some info on cleaning as well.

The thrust of the article is about how important it is to thoroughly test different media
settings before profiling, particularly with third party inks and papers. I like the detailed info
in the PF PRO help files on this - it is somewhat overlooked in some other packages

It's at
http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/media_settings.html

And the thing that caught me out initially -- the best prints on the particular glossy paper I
used needed the Plain Paper setting...

Hope it's of interest
