David - Everything you suggested had already checked out fine - no yellow triangles by the USB devices, noises from the Spectro "healthy", and so forth. But the suggestion to unplug Spectro, shut down computer, restart and re-plug Spectro did the trick. Things are working okay now. Many thanks for your suggestions!! I'm having some unrelated troubles with the printer itself. Its calibration seems to drift even over a couple of weeks' time, and I'm sure this has nothing to do with PFP or the Spectro. I'm pretty sure I'll have to send the printer off to Epson for re-calibration. Thanks again - Bill Hansen
