everytime I calibate my crt with express, the "before" is always cleaner, whereas after I calibate the crt seems a bit too red. Is this normal?

With a CRT, unless you are calibrating and working in the near dark, and viewing an industry standard gray card, in a 5000k light booth, then you have no real way of determining what is neutral, and what isn't.
