Spyder3Print Stand-Alone MSRP?

Spyder3Print Stand-Alone MSRP?

2007-10-29 by gtakacs1

Hi,

Is there an estimated time of availability and MSRP for the
Spyder3Print Stand-Alone package? I know that it's essentially the same
thing as the Printfix Pro 2.0 with the free upgrade to the 3.0
software, but I was just curious what the price on it will be when it
comes out.

Regards,
Greg Takacs

It's not an officially announced product, so all I can do is speculate: history would indicate it should run $100 less than the similar bundle (though history is not always a perfect guide). Given that no one has a Spyder3 yet, and getting a Spyder3 with the Elite level software for an additional $100 in the Studio bundle is a great deal, it won't be a big issue for the first couple of months. After that, I would expect demand to start increasing for a standalone version...

Thanks for your response David. The reason I have asked is simply
because I already own a Monaco Optix XR and I did not really need
another monitor profiling solution. Bundle this with the fact that I
could get my hands on the PrintFIX Pro 2.0 package for $262 after MIR
made me wonder if I should have:
1) waited for the newSpyder3Print stand-alone version
2) sold my Monaco and get the Spyder3Elite package.

Given the incredible deal going on for the current PrintFIX Pro 2.0
I'd have had to be able to sell my Monaco Optix XR for $340 to break
even with purchasing the Spyder3Elite package.

As long as the new Spyder3Print is not going to sell around $299 I
think I made the right decision by buying the Printfix pro 2.0 with
the free upgrade to Spyder3Print 3.0 software.

Both reasonable options... as is getting PrintFIX PRO, quick like a bunny, while the rebate is still valid, and using it with the new Spyder3Print software.

No chance of that...

Ah, then you already got PFP2. So you are all set for the forseeable future. At least until Optix XR gets outdated and doesn't support your newest OS, or some such issue... if you use Vista64, you would be in that position already. On the Mac you can just cross your fingers that Leopard doesn't break your Optix software...
