I am looking to but Printfix Pro Suite.  However I am confused.  I have 
seen references to Printfix Pro and PRintfix Pro v2.  Is there a 
hardware difference?  Or just different software?

If I but Printfix Pro (v1)  can I upgrade the software to v2 or v3?

Only the software is different; nothing else.

It doesn't matter which version of the product you buy; you can always
download and install the latest software, directly from our web site.
(Which, at this time, is the Spyder3Print 3.0 software; the latest
version of PrintFIX PRO has been renamed).

Yes, just download the latest installer; read the update notes, also
(click on the "i" at the end of the download line to see them); and
follow the instructions; use an existing PFP serial number to initialize
the updated version of the software.
