Thats one solution...
How is monitor color managed with an iMac running Mac programs then
switching to XP for Windows only programs? Does monitor calibration in
Mac start up still valid when running Windows? Or does each operating
system require separate monitor calibration?
You are asking the right questions. If you calibrate under OS X, that will create an ICC profile that the Mac OS will use, and a set of videocard corrections that will be flashed to the card on startup. If you then calibrate again under Parallels, you will get a Windows profile that color managed Windows applications will use, but the video corrections will be null in that profile; the ones from the Mac will still be used. That will get you a reasonable emulation of full color management, as long as you use similar settings when calibrating under both OSes. The Spyder products will run on both OSes, using the same serial number, so will allow this type of mixed color management...
If I do all photo printing w/XP and Qimage will my present printer
profiles (copied over to the iMac under windows) still be valid?
Your printer profiles reflect an OS and driver. You'll need new ones if you print from a different OS or different driver. But it doesn't actually sound like you'll be printing from a different OS, or a different driver, only a different computer running the same OS and driver. That should work...
OT Any real issues running PhotoshopCS3 under iMac vs Windows?
Well, its not identical, but its similar enough so you can usually figure things out. Its the keyboard shortcuts that will get you.
Or has
Adobe really made PS run equally well under both systems?
Quite similarly... equal might be a just a bit too optimistic.
