Printing problem solved!!
2010-04-08 by bill_hansen20012001
My heartfelt thanks to whomever at DataColor replaced my Spyder3Print Spectro. The replacement unit has solved the previous problems with overly dark prints, thus ending many weeks of frustration. Before anyone gets all in a knot about this, I admit that one of my 729 patch targets was not printed correctly - but other target printouts were correctly printed (with no color management), and prints had continued to be so dark that the profile editing could not correct that problem. Nothing has chnaged about my setup except for the new Spectro. Measuring the 225 patch targets with the new unit, followed by a few adjustments to the original reading, allows excellent prints for the first time in many weeks. So - thanks again, to DataColor in general and particularly to whomever it was who sent the replacement Spectro. (And thanks to all of you, too, for listening patiently to all my whining in recent weeks). (Maybe the other good thing which has come out of this is that I can confirm that Smugmug does do an "okay" job of printing - but that prints made from your own printer profiles will definitely be better!)
