clean install question for future

clean install question for future

2010-10-16 by nikonuser@ymail.com

hi again,

i normally clean install my computer twice a year. windows 7 professional 64 bits.

having just switched over to spyder3 elite from the other side ;) i am asking if on my next installation i can just run the 4.02 software update (which thank you datacolor for giving it free :-) to recent purchasers very good move) or must i start with disc which i believe had version 3.15 on it and then update version 4.02?

i ask as i like to run a lean mean speed machine.... and keep a clean registry when at all possible.

thank you

If you are currently running a v3 product, then uninstalling isn't a bad idea. If you are currently running a v4 product, I'd just install the update.

I have a Spyder3 Elite....
running software version 4.02....

so my next install i can just install the 4.02 version software instead of running 3.15 off the disc and then updating? I just bought it from B and H Photo 3 days ago.

I would prefer to just install 4.02 but i wasn't sure if datacolor had full programs on their updates like many do.

i have in add remove programs only a listing for version 4 of your software as it must overwrite or remove the previous version on windows 7 professional 64 bit.

thank you

Next install? If it is on a machine where no version of Elite exists, then definitely just instals 4.0.2; don't install an older version first.

4.0.2 is a full installer.
