Work room lighting

Work room lighting

2012-04-25 by Bill Lewis

As I am building my digital darkroom in the front bedroom I blocked the windows with plywood and built shelving over the space and added a small work desk the room has floor to ceiling shelving and work tables on 3 walls and a larger center work surface the shelving and tables in the room look like an upper case E.

I have purchased 3 ott lights the corkscrew flourescents one for each area and a fourth straight tube desk lamp with a movable arm for viewing prints. Standard flourescents provide additional lighting but can be turned off seperatley. So it was nice to hear your mention of them.

I refer to the extra lights in a room that are never supposed to be on during color managed work as "vacuum cleaner lights"; you turn them on when you want to vacuum the room...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
