Profoling Canon Pixma iP 4200 printer

Hi Gang:

I'm trying to profile a Canon Pixma iP4200 printer. Can anyone tell
me if the "Enable ICM (Windows Color Management" box should be checked?

Thanks...... Jack Winberg

Hi again, Gang:

I answered my own question, I did check the "Enable ICM" box in the
printer driver, and my first profile came out right on target. Nice,
fast printer, easy, quick profile.

Jack,
assuming you're using PrintFix pro...inside the Print/Quality custom
area (printer driver) there is a quality slider, 1 is best (fine), 2
High an 3 Standard (I never use 4), select the best possible for the
used paper. You must also set halftoning to diffusion! In the
Color/Intensity custom area you must leave the ICM Checkbox unchecked
and the Print Type must be none.
Now print out the target...let it dry...then read the patches and
build the profile. When using the profile the printer driver settings
MUST be the same as described above...select the new generated profile
as the printer output profile in your printig software (Photoshop or
Qimage for example). This ICM checkbox inside the printer has nothing
to do with the profiling you do with PrintFix pro.

Best,
Peter
