Group inactivity?

Group inactivity?

2006-05-08 by Johnny Eades

I assume the group inactivity can be contributed to the great products
and our using them in the field. That translates to successfull
results and not a need to seek answers here. I would like to inject a
post as to my favorable results with PrintFix Pro suite. I have two
Epson 1280 printers with one dedicated to BW and the other to color.
Yesterday I had a rush job and the color printer was acting up, so I
created a printer profile for the ink/paper combination used, and
printed it on the one that had been dedicated to BW. The results were
outstandingly better than the one that was dedicated to color. Now I
intend to use them reversed. This leads me to deduce that some
printers do color better than another of the same brand. Oh, one
printer is the 1280 Silver edition (this is the better one for color).
Just my 2 cents worth.

So you have one regular and one "siver edition"? Maybe they have
different firmware. Very interesting :-)

Johnny,

It does seem to have slowed a bit, but over the past week, there have been
some problems on the Yahoo! side. The following message was posted to
another forum, it might account for some of the slowdown. -kris moler,
co-moderator

Hi Folks,Should have posted this earlier, but I wanted
to let everyone know That we are aware of the delays
in email delivery that are affecting Many groups right
now. The problem is not related to any of the Database
and hardware work we were doing earlier in the year.
Rather, the primary cause is the "My Wife virus
(http://vil.nai.Com/vil/content/v_138027.htm ), which
has caused a Huge spike in the number of emails sent
to Yahoo! Groups. This spike Has gone beyond the
capacity of our current systems to handle, which Is
causing the delays in email delivery. We have already
taken two steps to address the issue, which has Begun
to reduce the number of delays: - We are dropping
(I.e. Not delivering) all outgoing email that Includes
the virus (in other words, we are not sending infected
Messages to groups).- We have added additional server
capacity And we are planning to increase that capacity
even more. However, Until the virus has fully played
itself out or more ISPs have taken Steps to reduce the
amount of email they are sending to us (by Dropping
messages that contain the virus rather than forcing us
to Do it), there may continue to be some delays. Our
apologies for any inconvenience.- GordonYahoo! Groups

Thats one possible cause; or maybe its nice spring weather, and people are out shooting photos, instead of inside processing them!

Always nice to see some positive feedback!

I doubt the difference is do to the edition. I suspect it has to do with head wear, head clogging, partial clogging, and other device specific conditions. Conditions of these types are among the reasons that custom profiles are needed; since no two devices can be assumed to be truely identical...
