Re: [disklavier] Poll results for disklavier

2001-11-11 by Larry McKenzie

I did not have a chance to respond to the poll but I want you to know how
much I have enjoyed this group over the past few years. I originally joined
to get some free music, as I suspect that several others have as well. I
have however gotten much more from the networking that you have afforded by
opening the world of other disklavier owners to me. I have also saved a
great deal of money and learneed a lot about my instrument. I found Yamaha
service contacts through the website which allowed me to repair my own piano
without getting taken by the local technicians. For instance the dealer
coame out to the house and quoted me a repair bill in the $700.00 range. By
calling the Yamaha service number I obtained I was able to simply replace
the bad disk drive from my piano with a used drive from another yamaha
device and the repair cost me a grand total of NOTHING using parts I had
available. Thanks to all you guys at Yamaha, especially Mark Wisner, who by
the way if you have any questions will help you through the problem. In the
past I have contributed files to the vault and will do so again in the
future. Thanks for all you do in keeping the group going.

As far as sheet music I think that would be a dangerous place to go. Public
domain sheet music is available elsewhere. I can't read sheet music well
enough to play the piano well anyway, that's why I bought my disklavier
years ago, so I could have others play for me.
