Troubleshooting dead MX100A

I bought a used Yahama Disklavier MX100A around 1990, which is also able to record.
Unfortunately some years ago it got ill...
First it froze around 10-15 seconds into the tune, later it would only spin the diskette and then it stopped even spinning up the diskette drive. There is nothing in the display and the digital display shows 00.
Is anybody on this forum familiar with any commonly known "problem components" or child diseases for this first version of the product ? Perhaps we could save some time and gray hairs ... :-) A friend has offered to help try and fix it and I am working on getting a field service manual in another forum.
