Re: Pedal 3 Before and after files

2014-03-01 by Skanter123

Spence, the advice on the list is that I would need a DKV technician to do this.
Unfortunately, the only DKV tech I know of in NYC charged $300 just to show up, and I'm a DIU guy anyway.

BUT, i may have solved most of the clunking pedal issue. Despite my non-DKV tech saying the pedals were fine, I tightened the screw that attaches to the bar above the pedal (don't know terminology). Much quieter! Even playing back non-incremental pedal files, I'm not hearing much clunking or thumping! I just have to make sure that the pedal is correctly dampening and undampening the strings.
But, I may have stumbled onto the solution. In the process, I discovered your terrific utility that allows me to put pedal data on ch 3 for incremental files. I'll do this with all files so I can leave DKV on HP mode.

Thanks for your help,

Sam

I will do further testing over the weekend and see if it pops up again. The good news is that the incremental pedal works with files that have this data. I will attempt to change files that don't with pedal on off utility and move to ch 3.
