There is no easy way of checking the output. There is a circuit board called the "Key Emission" circuit board on the key sensor rail under the keys, which contains the LED's. It's quite cheap, so the easiest option would be to get it replaced.

I found that the LEDs seem to go dim after a few years, causing the problem you mention. In most cases, I've found the circuit board above fixes the problem. (although I have also come across the odd case where a mouse has chewed through the cable - including the metal screening)

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
