I don't know if this is true for all Disklaviers  but I was able to use the 
high density disks on an older one by covering over the second hole (not 
the write protect hole, the other one)n the disc with tape and formatting 
at double density. This has also worked on every other strange old thing 
that needed 720k discs. Of course you may need to format with the special 
format that the very old machines needed but a disc is a disc. Just a piece 
of plastic with magnetic material on it. The higher density ones have finer 
and better material than the old ones and together with the newer equipment 
allowed a higher density of tracks. I think that some of the old ones were 
also single sided, maybe this is true of the 720ks but I forget all this 
ancient information.
