Re: [disklavier] piano concertos & ambiance music for Disklavier M4

2014-12-16 by Spencer Chase

i have downloaded all the ecomp midi files from 2002 to 2011 and have added meta data to them as well as created tag.txt files for use with mid2pianocd to make tagged files. it was a lot of work to download and merge all the text and correct the many errors. i might do this with 2013 and 2014 but can not find the files.

anyone know where they are for 2013 ND 2014 and why Yamaha makes you download the files in little groups instead of getting the whole batch at once and also why they only have the meta data as text on the various pages instead of in the files?

Have you considered sending the drive to a computer data recovery expert? The Disklavier control unit is just a small Linux computer, after all. You might be able to get some of your material back depending on how the drive failed.

I don't have any good sources of orchestra + piano files I'm afraid. There are a few 'OK' files on http://www.kunstderfuge.com/mozart.htm.

ClassicalArchives.com has a vast library of MIDI files and used to be free, but they now charge a subscription - at least you can get a short trial and hear the performances online before you subscribe though.

There is also the archive from the http://www.piano-e-competition.com/ (go to the 'Winner History' link and you can get the midi files for each year) - though not with orchestra.

Hopefully others can chime in with more suggestions.

Good luck!

James

Hi everybody,
I crashed my HDD on disklavier, but reinstall a great SSD with fantastic help of Bill, but unfortunately I am unable to restore my music (probably badly saved)
Out of Yamaha sources, when can I download free or against payment some great piano concertos for Disklavier Mark IV (with real orchestra) and also some good cocktail music for ambiance and great classic ? I use yamaha radio but same for too log time.
Thank you !
Julien
