Re: [disklavier] Connecting piano to ipad

2015-06-13 by Spencer Chase

i would still use Media Monkey but Itunes would work if you like bloated uncontrollable garbage software. you need to read the blogs and figure out how to get MM working on a Mac. i doubt you could get it working on the Ipad. not aware of any really good programs for that so you might be stuck with Itunes. could also install a dedicated computer on the piano and control it from team viewer from just about anything ios android windows mac os etc etc. buy a cheap notebook with windows on it to run MM.

i am a PC guy but i use Macs and Iphones for what they do better.

I have an old GH1, with the DKC100R floppy-drive controller, as well as the TG100 tone generator. I would like to convert this all over to modern technology, and be able to cue up songs and play from my iPad. Ideally, through wifi, but bluetooth would be acceptable.

What would the state-of-the-art setup be for this? I would like to remove the DKC100R controller, but that would leave just the control cable as the connection point. How would one connect to that?

What hardware would you recommend?

Software? (I use Mac OSX exclusively.)

Tech changes frequently. Since I am starting from scratch, would like to what what the state-of-the-art is for this.

Connecting to online files, radio, etc. would be a plus, but not necessary.

Thank you in advance!
