Hi Sammy,
I think this will work, but if you want to play on the disklavier and record it in the laptop, you will need also a cable with midi out disklavier to midi in on the TG 300.
I think the to host cable is available at every music shop wich also sells electronics, in Holland the cable comes with a diskette with the CBX driver included.
succes !
With best regards,

Hi Vincent,
Thank you for the information.
My Disklavier was made in 1996 and does not support XG. I connect the Disklavier to an external Yamaha TG300 Tone Generator via a midi cable.
Please advise if the following configuartion would work.
PC (com port) -> To Host cable -> TG300 (To Host socket)
TG300 midi out -> midi cable -> Disklavier midi in
Is the To Host cable available at Yamaha dealer ?
Thank you for your kind support.
Best regards,
Sammy

You jus need a to host cable, wich will connect the com port of your notebook to the to host connection of your disklavier, you will need to install the Yamaha CBX driver, available on www.yamaha-xg.com

I am looking for a Serial to Midi interface to connect my IBM compatible notebook computer to the Disklavier.
Can someone recommend a cost effective source for the interface that support Windows 98.
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Sammy
