I’m a technician and I went to all the seminars 20 years ago on this model when it was new and have since forgotten most of what I was taught however, suffice it to say that diagnostics didn’t give me any clues.

It plays a disk until it quits ....  which is usually random but sometimes in the same spot.  The piano keys don’t move but the index keeps running and the “activity indicator” shows it’s still reading the disk.

happens with any disk
sometimes plays for almost the entire disk, other times it plays two notes and quits
factory  technician suggested a bad regulator or a bad electrolytic capacitor  .....  which is what it sounds like to me.  Erratic hash being imposed on the DC voltage somewhere.

Any first hand experiences out there?
Any rebuilt or working power supplies for sale out there?
