Thanks George.
Just to be cautious on my part, the E3/DKC-800 combination can play both Eseq(including PianoSoft Plus) as well as Midi Files.
Thank you.

Good evening, everyone.
Ralph, the DKC-850 control unit is virtually indistinguishable from the DKC-800 control using that coms with the E3.
On the back of each box are 2 different sets of ports for connecting to the piano directly to the piano. The DKC-850 uses the serial port when connecting to Mark IIXG and Mark III pianos (thus replacing the original control unit). The DKC-800 uses the blue and green digital ports to connect to the E3. (Of course you have to use the MIDI ports when connecting the DKC-850 to Mark II and older Disklaviers.)
I don’t know if the DKC-850 and the DKC-800 are interchangeable. Regardless, the E3 comes with a DKC-800, and you won’t need the DKC-850 if you acquire an E3.

About six months ago, I upgraded my 30 year old MX100 by adding the DKC-850.
I transferred my old Floppy images to a USB drive and was really amazed at the changes to the piano and accompaniment with my home stereo system.
Question: If I decided to upgrade to the new E series piano, would I need to keep the DKC-850 in order to use the USB of my floppies, or is the DKC-850 redundant?
I know that there were some comments on compatibility of the older Disklaviers going forward to the E series, and wanted to understand all the details.
Thank you
