trying to figure out what the problem is. first lets forget about tracks. there is no reason for more than one track for playing on a Disklavier. if the file is a type 1 with more than 1 track it makes sense to convert it to a type 0 which has only one track, then you just need to deal with channels.
is the problem that you want to merge two channels into one and that the result has the start and end times of the notes all screwed up so that merged notes end prematurely? if so the solution is to use my remap channels program to merge the channels and use the unlap option which will merge overlapping notes into one. if you want the notes to operate independently you have to play one channel with the acoustic piano and the other with the synth unless you want to do extensive editing by hand. of course you can not use my remap channels program on a Mac unless you use a virtual PC program of which there are several. The other option is to dedicate a cheap little PC to run windows utilities. MIDI does not require much of a computer, any little netbook with a USB port can be used to process files and transfer to the Mac.

Subject: Re: [disklavier] Changing Track # on MIDI files on MAC
Hello Ian,thanks for your suggestion. I forgot to write that I have already tried MidiSwing.
It allows a lot of things but I cannot use it to make four hands MIDI playable on a Disklavier.
This nice piece for instance...
http://www.kunstderfuge.com/-/midi.asp?file=31/gottschalk_rossini_william_tell_4_hands_part-2_(c)yogore.midI need to overlap parts to use only 2 tracks (or channels, if you prefer), because Disklavier cannot manage two tracks on the same channel.
If you use a usual MIDIs for two hands, this problem does not arise.
