Good Morning to all:
I have some questions for the group
I have been using Cakewalk Home Studio version 9 (a really old program) on a Windows 7 based laptop to drive the Disklavier which his a Mark II upgraded with a DKC-850 via the MIDI interface
It is easy and simple to use. I can change channels, tracks, volume, velocity, etc. all on the fly - in real time. All through the MIDI interface of the DKC-850. The graphics are clean and uncluttered and it is just a joy of a program to use with the Diskalvier
Does anyone have or know of a windows based program like the old home studio that works on Windows 10? I am worried that when my windows 7 machine dies, I will be unable to run Home Studio on a windows 10 or later platform
In addition, I now have access to a recent vintage macbook pro laptop - does anyone know of a program for the mac universe like Cakewalk home studio I could use with the same midi interface to drive the Disklavier. I am inexperienced in the MAC universe but I assume I could run a program on the MAC and drive the Disklavier with the same USB - MIDI interface
All of this is for downloading midi files off the internet and rearranging them via the sequencing software so they "work" on the disklavier and the DKC-850
I would greatly appreciate anyone's knowledge, expertise and experience
I have a hit a brick wall trying to get these questions answered, so I thought the Disklavier user group would be good place to ask
Thank you all for your time
