Channel probably has little to do with it. Output setting is more likely the problem. Whatever player you are using to send the signal to the piano should have an 'Output' button selector, within which you can select to play either thru your cable to the piano or thru the synthesiser in your computer. Simply switch from one to the other, and then back. It resets and works for me every time.
