Re: [disklavier] Interesting Observations

Very cool. Yeah I just purchased a few albums on the sale. That brings me to about 300+ Pianosoft titles over 15yrs of collecting. And your correct that the new albums with Audio include the mp3 and mid files that the Enspire computer syncs into Stereo audio + acoustic piano. This is new for the Enspire but sadly it will NOT play the hundreds of mono (with mid incorporated into the left channel) previously produced/sold libraries so many of us are stuck with thousands of $ in music (Smart Pianosoft & Audio CD) that won’t play on our new Disklaviers. Yamaha is promising a slow conversion of some, but we’ll see.

Hey that sorting utility sounds perfect as I ran into the same issue and sorting through the Enspire App can be tedious. Thanks for that!

Happy listening :-)

I took advantage of the 20% off sale at Yamaha MusicSoft and downloaded John Denver, Bette Midler, and George Benson albums.

These have the Original Artist doing the singing as compared to other songs which have non-original artists such as Elvis or Fleetwood Mac.

The sound is spectacular.

When you download the album to a PC you need to unzip the album and the unzip each song.

Interestingly enough each song is composed of a midi file which contains the Piano portion and a MP3 file which contains the orchestra and vocals.

As I mentioned this is a great sound breakthrough.

Also, I have many folders of songs which I migrated from the Disklavier Floppies and converted to midi and have copied to the Thumb drive for the Enspire unit.

In order to keep them in some sort of logical order I start the folder name with a three digit sequence number.

However when the Thumb drive is inserted into the Enspire the folders do not always display in numerical order.

I found a free software program called FATSORTER which sorts the files in numerical order.

Happy to answer any questions that you have.
