I was not present when the awards were made and have not asked the judges 
about this. It might, at first, seem logical that all six finalists be ranked 
from 1 to 6. However, there is prize money associated with each award. So, I 
presume that the judges decided not to make a 3rd place award because they 
felt that it was not justified by the rules of the competition. I have not 
checked them out, but I believe that the jury guidelines are posted on the 
web site.
