I think the best MIDI file player is Van Basco's.
It's actually marketed as a karaoke player as it has the facility
to display lyrics, however it also has a live keyboard display
that mimics the disklavier, as well as a multi channel display
which is very handy for analysis. Best of all, it's totally free :-)
Tempo is also adjustable, and it supports playlists....and so on...
