Dear Pianobench,

You and I had an exchange on DUG about this same problem back in
1999, and it continues to pop up periodically. It seems there may
be diskette play peculiarities of playback-only models or of certain
control units, requiring workarounds such as I described in message
#1662. Yamaha should investigate this problem for future
correction, or at least to document and publicize what the user must
do/not do in order to avoid problems playing MIDI files via the
diskette drive of the Disklavier.

FYI, j1mbee, the author of the message you are responding to, fixed
his problem by shortening the file names.

Regards,
