It seems there may be diskette play peculiarities of playback-only models or of certain control units, requiring workarounds such as I described in message #1662. Yamaha should investigate this problem for future correction, or at least to document and publicize what the user must do/not do in order to avoid problems playing MIDI files via the diskette drive of the Disklavier.
