Many thanks again to all who tolerated my sting of questions. I think I have got what I can do with the Disklavier. Can't wait till I get my first ever DKV which will be ready in a about a months time. However I am glad that I am not working into it blindly and thatÂ’s thanks to you all. The nice thing about having a Disklavier USERS list is that we all use this wonderful product in different ways. Not even the technicians come close to the collective knowledge of this group when it comes to actually playing with all the many things these instruments can do! Since you would need a MIDI interface to connect between a computer and your DKV, it will only cost you the price of an extra MIDI cable ($3?) to find out if the the ensemble sounds play on your PSR 2000 keyboard. I suspect it will do just fine. The ensemble sounds would also play through the soundcard on the computer. The only way to upgrade the MarkII Disklavier is the DSR1. However, the Mark II Disklavier will play standard MIDI 0 files. If your keyboard works for the ensemble sounds, you are all set! There is no software that will drive the DKV from a computer that supports .fil (ESEQ)files. However, you can convert the ESEQ files to SMF 0 (standard MIDI 0) files which ARE supported by many software programs ranging in price from $29 to $600. Cakewalk will work very nicely. Hope the picture is getting clearer for you. I know it took me at least 3 years to learn what I think I know about these DKVs, and I'm sure that there is a lot more than what I know yet to learn!
