What shows in the "From" field of your emails should be a function of how your email client (i.e. Outlook Express) has the account set up. Spam address collectors can not read emails sent to the membership. The message list on the group website is also not accessible to spam spiders because they are not group members and can't get to it. One more good reason not to have the group open to the public. BTW, the group reached another major milestone this morning when I approved our 800th active member. This number does not include those who have unsubscribed or those who's emails have stopped accepting mail. There aren't too many groups at Yahoo this large, particularly just three years after being started by a dozen or so charter members. We've been adding 4 to 6 members a day for the last couple of weeks (an unusually high number). There's nothing like the holidays for stimulating new disklavier sales! -----Original Message----- From: yamahamale <kwfla@...> [mailto:kwfla@...] Sent: Sunday, December 08, 2002 12:30 PM To: disklavier@yahoogroups.com Subject: [disklavier] How can I get my email from showing on messages? I've noticed on my past couple of posts that my email address is showing up on the message list. Before it just showed my user name. I don't mind if someone contacts me from the group and I would encourage it but I don't want automatic spam software finding my email address from the message list and sending me spam. Why did this change and how do I get back to the list only showing my user name? Anyone know? Thanks, Jeff To Post a message to the group, send it to: disklavier@...
