[disklavier] Ratings Database

2000-02-02 by Mike McGregor

So far no one has added any disks to the ratings databases. I wonder
if the process is just too awkward or too mysterious. If anyone needs
help getting there and adding records, get back to me. Be glad to post
more simplified instructions to add records to the tables.

Hope you all will take advantage of this. It helps everyone to make
fewer mistakes in purchasing these rather expensive products.

A little more involved process, but one I have found to be convenient,
is to upload data from a spreadsheet. You can rate a batch of disks
offline, play with the wording, ponder the ratings, and so on, then
when you're satisfied with your work, upload the whole batch. Let me
know if you are interested in this approach. I'll send a template and
write out step-by=step instructions.

I will be adding a few more myself as I can. But would also love to
get other members' reactions to their own disks. (and even better if
they are some of the same disks I have). Multiple opinions on each
disk would be ideal. So don't hesitate to key in your own rating of any
of the disks already rated by someone else.

Regards,

Mike

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
