Good evening, everyone. In a message dated 1/23/03 7:45:05 PM, raydene@... writes: << Hmm...connecting by a midi cable. Maybe I could just connect the DKC500RX box to the mx100a in this manner? The DKC500RX box has a midi out port. It seems logical but probably isn't that easy, eh? Any thoughts? Thanks again! >> Sorry, but that will not work. The DKC500RX needs to connect to the Disklavier with a special cable that powers the control unit and handles the I/O (MIDI, communication with the disk drive, calibration tests, et cetera). The MIDI ports are for communication with the outside world. The DSR1 has its own power supply and does MIDI I/O with the control unit of the piano using one set of MIDI ports and does MIDI I/O with the rest of the world using a second set of MIDI ports. The DSR1 does not handle calibration issues. That will still be handled by the original control unit of the piano. Regards, PianoBench
